Getting Ready for Guests During the Holiday

I’m delighted that I will be having a house full of guests for the holidays.  We are all sure to have a great time visiting each other and I’m expecting lots of family and friends who live close to drop by.  That requires some planning so my guests will have a good time and I won’t be stuck in the kitchen.  So I’ve prepared a shopping list full of quick snacks, and meals, munchies, and beverages.  I love having house guests it like a vacation for me as well, or the new word”staycation”

I’ve also done some planning so when my guests are here in my home, they are as comfortable as possible.  It’s best to keep guest rooms simple and clear of clutter.

If there is enough room a small chair, or a nook like the one below, is great for guests to throw stuff on, or maybe they would like to spend a little time surfing the net on their laptop.

Luxurious towels, an alarm clock, fresh flowers, and chocolates, waiting for them in their room, will make guests feel like they’re staying in a five star resort.

A simple tray and water on the night stand…..turn a tall skinny glass and a short wider glass into a water carafe and matching tumbler.

Extra toothbrushes and toothpaste is always good to have on hand in case they forgot theirs.

Individualizing guest towels will help keep them from getting mixed up, when the house is full of people.

Make sure the guest room has enough storage space for your guests to hang their clothing

It’s also a great idea to have small snacks for your guests to take with them when they are out sightseeing

and have cocktail mixers ready for unexpected guests, or for when you get home after a long day of shopping.

I better get busy and start cleaning, there’s so much to do before my guests get here.

Hope you  have a wonderful time with your house guests
