Color of the year 2013 Pantone Emerald Green

I’m sure you’ve all heard the news by now!  Pantone has announced Emerald Green as the color of the year.  Well it’s about time!

I love emerald green, and have been happy to see it was gaining popularity from fashion to interiors for a few years now.  I’m excited that we get to see more of it this year.

Since Emeralds are a precious gemstone the color has always given a perception of luxury and sophistication.

Instead of using emerald green as an accent color why not cover all the walls with it! Isn’t it amazing that when you apply this much of one color in a room it takes on a neutral quality and works with everything else.

Emerald is a vibrant green and like no other color reflects renewal, prosperity, and healing.  I hope this is the sign of things to come in the New Year.

Enjoy!

Color of the Year 2011 – Pantone’s Honeysuckle

PANTONE® is the global authority on color, and has named PANTONE® 18-2120 Honeysuckle the color of the year for 2011.  It’s a reddish pink color that is stimulating and vibrant,  I love to wear this color;  it makes any complexion glow.  In interior design, it’s uplifting and has a burst of energy – makes any space happy.

Honeysuckle is a good choice for this year – when uplifting, vibrant, happy colors are needed in large doses.  Last year’s color was turquoise, calm and tranquil.  We’ll see lots of this engaging hue used in fashion, and accessories for women and men.  In the home market there will be table top accessories (like tablecloths and plates), candles, throws, rugs, and fabrics.  Are you thinking about buying a few of these accessories as an accent color? maybe a few throw pillows or candles? I’m thinking about the whole room painted Honeysuckle…..

How do you like a this years’ color?  We’ll see plenty of it especially in fashion, and the home accessories market, are you brave enough to paint your walls with it?
